  • Simple artwork process We’re with you every step of the way, from quotation, helping with artwork, through to delivery.

  • We deliver every time We’ll go above and beyond to get your planners delivered in time for term.

  • Designed to last the year All our robust products are designed to last the stresses and strains of the academic year.

Over the years, we’ve helped millions of people get organised and achieve more. We’ve learnt a few things along the way too…

…Like what makes a great product, why customer service matters, and how customers’ needs are continually changing. Thinking ahead is our speciality, after all.

Penstripe has specialised in educational planners since 1993, building on a printing heritage that dates back to the 1980s.

For more than 30 years, we’ve worked with schools and education providers, creating practical products that help students, teachers and schools stay organised throughout the academic year.

From our base in Leeds, West Yorkshire, we supply schools, academy trusts, colleges and other education providers with student planners, teacher planners, exercise books, knowledge organisers and supporting learning resources.

Over the years, the products may have changed, but our approach has remained straightforward: listen to what each school needs, make the ordering and artwork process as simple as possible, produce a product that is fit for everyday school life, and get it where it needs to be when it is needed.

Experience built around education

We’ve spent decades working with schools, which means we understand that educational stationery has to do much more than simply look good.

A student planner needs to withstand daily use throughout the school year. A teacher planner needs to make organisation easier rather than add unnecessary complexity. Exercise books need to suit the way individual schools and departments work. Bespoke products also need to be straightforward to create, even when the person ordering them already has a long list of other responsibilities.

That practical experience influences the way we develop our products and the way we support our customers.

We don’t expect every school to want the same thing. Our job is to give schools the flexibility to create something that works for their students, staff and individual way of working.

Made around your school

Bespoke products have always been an important part of what we do.

Schools can personalise planners, books and other resources to reflect their own requirements, whether that means including school information, policies, learning resources, reference material, branding or content developed specifically for their pupils.

Our UK-based team supports customers through the process, from the initial quotation and product choices through to artwork and production.

For existing customers, our MyPenstripe system also provides a dedicated place to manage artwork and work on personalised products.

Products designed for real school life

The products we supply are made to be used, not simply looked at.

Our planners and books are designed with the demands of the academic year in mind. You can find out more about the materials, binding methods and production checks we use on our Quality & Standards page.

That means thinking about durability, usability, layout, binding, content and the way a product will actually be handled by students and staff every day.

We also consider the materials used in our products and explain our approach to responsible sourcing on our Sustainability & Environment page.

Our core range includes:

  • Student planners for primary, secondary and further education
  • Teacher planners and teaching diaries
  • Exercise books
  • Knowledge organisers
  • Study and revision resources

We also work with schools that need something more individual, including personalised products and solutions for Multi-Academy Trusts.

Supporting schools from idea to delivery

For us, good service is just as important as the finished product.

We know that arranging planners or exercise books is normally only one part of somebody’s job. We also explain what schools can expect from us on our Guarantees & Service Commitments page.

That is why we aim to keep the process clear and manageable, with support available from quotation and artwork through to production and delivery.

Our customers regularly mention the quality of the products, communication from our team, support with artwork and the help they receive in getting products delivered when they need them.

Schools including Co-op Academy Bebington, Bredon Hill Academy, John Taylor Free School, Onslow St Audrey’s School and St Catherine’s College have shared their experiences of working with us.

We also have longer customer stories showing how we have supported schools with personalised planners, artwork, delivery and long-term supply relationships.
