WHY WELLBEING JOURNALS ARE SO IMPORTANT
In July 2020 we conducted a survey of our customers to understand more about how they saw the future for Student Planners in a post pandemic and hybrid learning world. Whilst resoundingly positive we saw a definite trend away from the traditional diary for documenting homework, and towards a tool that holistically supports a student throughout the academic year. The Learning & Wellbeing Journal was born of a desire to supply our customers with something they desperately needed. A whole new way to think of planners to reflect the new world we all now find ourselves in.
HOW THE LEARNING & WELLBEING JOURNAL DEVELOPED
1
Through talking to our customers, we realised there was a need to support them in developing a product that took the traditional Student Planner and added a support mechanism for discussions about wellbeing and mental health.
2
Engaging with students at Greenfield Community School we developed their initial ideas (which had appeared in their own journal the previous year) to create the pages that now form the first Penstripe Learning & Wellbeing Journal.
3
Finally we commissioned Buttercrumble (a local illustration and design team) to support us developing the final designs, with friendliness and positivity being the theme we were keen to create.
