HELP US TacklE period poverty in uk Schools AND BRING ABOUT EQUALITY FOR ALL.
Period Poverty happens when women and girls suffer an inability to access the period products they need, often due to financial reasons. It is a huge issue for UK schools, with over 130,000 girls each year missing school time due to their periods.
We have developed a unique free-dispense system that enables you to provide both tampons and pads in an easy access, high-capacity dispenser. One of these units installed in each washroom could provide period equality to students and staff alike.

Period Poverty In UK Schools
The issue of period poverty in schools has been an enormous problem for decades, with devastating consequences for the girls who suffer. Period products are needed, but aren’t always accessible or affordable. Unfortunately lack of funds sometimes dictates that people select to go without proper period products. In 2018, Plan International UK research found that period poverty affects 1 in 10 schoolgirls across the UK. In Scotland, the number is thought to be closer to 1 in 4.
HELP IS AT HAND
- Since 2018, all schools, colleges, and universities in Scotland have had funding to provide free products for all students.
- Since 2109, all schools and colleges in Wales have been able to access free products for their students and staff.
- In January 2020, the DoE in England launched the free provision of period products to all state maintained schools.
WHY PERIOD DIGNITY IS SO IMPORTANT
Without access to free period products, delivered discreetly, students and staff suffer in a multitude of ways. Without the confidence to openly discuss and seek advice performance will be impacted through an inability to concentrate, the feeling of being demonised, and ultimately through absence from school.
