At Penstripe, our core value is ‘creating productive lives’, a value that can be seen running right through our product range, as well as the emphasis we put in giving to charity.
As you may have already seen in this blog post, we’re currently working alongside back health charity – BackCare – on their KidsBacks4TheFuture campaign. We’ve been working with the charity to promote back health to UK school pupils, by designing a designated page for school planners that includes postural adjustment techniques and guidance to help prevent back problems in later years.
As well as BackCare we give annual donations to a number of different charities including Yorkshire Air Ambulance, Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), Cancer Research UK and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). As a business we’ve been giving to these organisations for two years and prior to that we supported the charities individually.
Cancer Research UK is a charity close to the heart of our business. A number of our team have lost friends and family to this devastating disease, so, we wanted to do everything we can to help this charity.
Yorkshire Air Ambulance and RNLI are two charities that rely on charitable giving to fund their amazing work. Yorkshire Air Ambulance own two ambulances that cover the Yorkshire area, one based in Nostell Priory and one at RAF Topcliffe. RNLI provides 24-hour lifeboat search and rescue services in the UK, as well as seasonal lifeguards, that rescued over 10,000 people in 2014. Relying on donations to function, we’re happy to be able to help these two amazing charities save even more lives.
We also give internationally through our support of the ICRC. This charity operates in all corners of the world, bringing much needed relief and humanitarian aid in times of crises. The Red Cross help in such a huge range of crises, including economic security, healthcare, water and habitat and protecting civilians – every little bit helps them continue their vital and varied support.
We give to many charities, and encourage others to do the same. These, and the other charities that we provide both corporate and personal donations to, do incredible work. We’re happy to support however we can.
